Garcinia Cambogia is thought of as a weight loss miracle by some people and as tripe by others. Which is correct? Can it help people lose weight, and if so, how does it work? Decide for yourself if you think Garcinia Cambogia for weight loss is hope or hype.
Dieting has a horrible connotation in Western civilization. How do some people do it while others seem to spend every waking minute trying and not succeeding?

There are two problems with diets that I’ve found, both through personal experience and my own research, of which I have extensively researched vitamins, minerals, and foods. One problem is the methods several diets tend to use. Diets, like a vegan diet, a low-carb diet, or a calorie-counting diet, have you resisting food. It doesn’t matter which foods you need to stay away from; you stuck resisting the temptation to eat the foods you like. If you don’t like what you’re eating, you won’t eat it, right? The other problem I’ve found is that many diets tell you it’s temporary. Thoughts such as, “Once I reach my weight goal, I’ll stop dieting,” are dangerous. This leads to a yo-yo diet, where you lose weight successfully, then go right back to eating what you did before—often the same foods that made you gain weight to begin with.
Neither method is appropriate. Diets need to do two things for you to be successful. One, they need to be additive. You will only eat so much—so if you start adding things to your diet that art good for you, other foods that aren’t so good for you will “fall off your plate”, and you won’t eat them. Two, the diets need to be gradual. If you change your diet too much too fast, you will put your body in shock. The changes won’t be long term—the whole point of dieting.
Garcinia Cambogia as a Weight Loss Supplement
To consider Garcinia Cambogia as a weight loss supplement, you need to go where the data is, and then try it for yourself. The studies that show appetite suppression and potential weight loss were done in rats. However, the human study shows two groups in similar situations and diets. One group took Garcinia Cambogia as a part of their diet; the other did not. Interestingly, the group that did not take Garcinia Cambogia lost more weight than the ones who did. Thus, the evidence is inconclusive to the effectiveness of Garcinia Cambogia in humans.
The hype, however, is there. I am firm believer that the only flaw in the standard scientific method is the singling out of one or two causes for a potential problem. My personal experience shows me that vitamins and minerals have their greatest effect if I take a multivitamin with many differing vitamins and minerals working together. By itself, vitamin A isn’t soluble by the human body, but the vitamins in the “B” group—B6 and B12, for example—can work by themselves. Another example is how your bones can only use calcium if you also take boron—another mineral that helps bind calcium to your bones.
How Garcinia Cambogia Works Best
The point is this. Garcinia Cambogia will most likely work the best under the right circumstances. The evidence is insufficient to show what those circumstances are—it might work for you, and it might not. The only way to find out is to try it.
